From the Dean

Our college welcomes two very special groups to the West Lafayette campus in July.

We are pleased to have customer service leaders from across the country with us July 9-12 for the 14th annual Call Center Campus, hosted by the Center for Customer Driven Quality. There are nearly 60,000 call centers in the United States, and they are strategic tools in delivering exceptional customer service. Through more than 40 workshops and seminars, the conference will provide call center professionals with best practices in call center management and the latest in technology and trends.

Our 10th Camp Calcium also is currently underway — this year, about 50 girls ages 12 to 14 are participating in the camp, which will measure the effects of vitamin D on calcium absorption. By learning more about how young people of all races process calcium differently, we have a better chance to promote bone health and reduce osteoporosis in later life. Results from previous camps have been used to formulate the dairy recommendations for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s food pyramid.

Hail Purdue!
